Bombs & Voxels
A downloadable game for Windows
This is my attempt at making Minecraft in 24 hours with Gamemaker.
It includes:
- Dynamic voxel engine
- Random heightmap generation and conversion to voxels
- Basic cubic collisions
- Grenades & explosions which blow holes in the terrain
- Tilemap texturing with auto grass on top voxels
I had a lot more things planned but I ran out of time. But I'm going to keep working on it and release the project as a tutorial voxel engine.
Things I'm going to add:
- More weapons & bombs (Cannon, bazooka, machinegun, dynamite, homing missle etc.)
- Enemies that hunt you down (Then the goal will be to kill them all or stay alive as long as possible(if they respawn))
- An options menu for the terrain generation and all game variables
- Rising water
- More material types (Rock, sand, wood etc.)
- Random weapon crate drops
- Random airstrikes
- Landmines
- Sky effects (Clouds, sun, stars, rain, snow)
- Day\night cycles
Controls:
WASD - Horizontal Movement
Space - Jump \ Fly Upwards
C - Fly Downwards
Double tap space - Toggle Fly Mode
Hold Ctrl \ Mouse Left Button - Throw Grenade
R - Regenerate World
Tab - Toggle FPS Display
